Resumo: This paper aims to debate the relations between the work of curators and conservators during an exhibit's montage in a museum. In order to do this, it starts by giving an account of the author's experience as an intern at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, in Madrid. Latter on, it relates this experience to the debates about conservation and curatorial studies, that took place during the advanced course in curatorial studies offered by the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, in Rio de Janeiro. In light of the common practice of conservators and curators of working isolated from each other, even within one and the same institution, the author proposes the transdisciplinarity as an alternative strategy to improve the intrainstitutional relations and to foster the dialogue between these two spheres engaged in the process of an exhibition montage.

Para isso, parto do relato da minha experiência de residência no Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, em Madri; para, em seguida, inserir essa experiência no contexto dos debates de que participei, a respeito do tema "conservação e curadoria", no curso "Aprofundamento em Curadoria", da Escola de Artes Visuais Parque Lage, no Rio de Janeiro.
