Resumo: The article explores the journey of searching for one of the hundreds of victims of the Chilean military dictatorship, who disappeared in 1974. After a long wait, in 1990, his body was found accidentally in a clandestine grave in northern Chile, the town of Pisagua. Consequently, it explores the ways that had the long wait for the victims ‘ families. As a consequence, this study looks at the experiences of the victims’ families during their long wait. It also examines the network of civil-military bureaucracy that prevented to know exactly what people, against their will, were arrested, tortured, killed and missing, making visible the violence and the impunity with which the State of Chile excecuted them during the military regime.

Después de una larga espera, en 1990 su cuerpo  fue casualmente encontrado en  una fosa clandestina en el norte de Chile en la localidad de Pisagua. En consecuencia, indaga en los recorridos que tuvo la larga espera de los familiares de las víctimas. Asimismo examina la red de burocracia cívico-militar que  impidió saber con exactitud dónde estaban aquellas personas que contra su voluntad fueron detenidos, torturados, asesinados y desaparecidos, visibilizando la violencia  e impunidad con que actuó el Estado de Chile durante el régimen militar.O artigo explora o itinerário de busca de uma das centenas de vítimas da ditadura militar chilena, que desapareceu em 1974. Depois de uma longa espera, em 1990, seu corpo foi encontrado acidentalmente numa cova clandestina no norte do Chile, localidade de Pisagua. Consequentemente, se explora os caminhos que tiveram a longa espera para as famílias das vítimas.
