Scientific Literacy and Astronomy in early childhood education: a ludic exploration of the concepts of day and night

Resumo: Scientific literacy is a process that promotes dialogues and approximations between the scientific culture and the experimental culture of individuals. This process can, and should, be present in the daily lives of young children and the use of ludicity becomes possible, as it is necessary to think about its suitability for children. Thus, this work aims to present the process of elaboration, development and results of a playful-didactic intervention planned in the context of a discipline in the Pedagogy course at Unifesp. The adopted methodology allowed us to discuss the use of non-formal educational elements in the school environment through a didactic intervention, using a sequence of activities on the theme Day and Night: cartoon, conversation wheel, artistic production and game. As a result, we verified, through the children’s activities and speeches, that each moment contributed to expand their experiences and knowledge about the astronomical phenomenon.

Esse processo pode, e deve, estar presente no cotidiano das crianças pequenas e o uso da ludicidade torna-o possível, pois, é necessário pensar sua adequação ao público infantil. Assim, o presente trabalho objetiva apresentar o processo de elaboração, desenvolvimento e resultados de uma intervenção lúdico-didática planejada no contexto de uma disciplina do curso de Pedagogia da Unifesp, oferecida nos primeiros semestres. A metodologia adotada permitiu-nos discutir o uso de elementos educacionais não formais em âmbito escolar por meio de uma intervenção didática baseada em uma sequência de atividades sobre a temática Dia e Noite a saber: desenho animado, roda de conversa, produção artística e brincadeira.
