Resumo: The objective of the communication consists of revealing, from the analysis of the results of research carried out in a period of ten years, the sequence of actions followed to offer an alternative solution to a generalized health problem in the XXI century: Chronic noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs). At the same time, to appreciate, how practically five years later, new perspectives are incorporated to the same problem, from the breadth of the concept of quality of life in favor of the human development of the elderly. As an added value, demonstrate the possibility of professional growth of a researcher, to move with the same subject, from the stage of diploma work, through master’s thesis to the doctoral thesis, with its participation in different projects. Internally, in the content of the results, and in response to the communication objective, a set of strategic actions are visualized that prioritize community intervention and its intersectoral nature, by linking the health sector (from Primary Care of Health), with the higher education sector (with the training of Graduates in Physical Culture, specifically in the area of prophylactic and therapeutic physical culture), to face the challenge of caring for older adults with Chronic non-Communicable Diseases, by practicing Tai Chi.
