Resumo: This article discusses the political use of football and the freedom of expression of female fans in stadiums. With this, it seeks to demonstrate how the act of cheering is related to the representation and expression of the female identity. As a specific social field, sport also reproduces the struggles for the monopoly of the legitimate function it should have in society. Considering that football is a sociocultural phenomenon, cheering is also a political act of resistance for women.
