Resumo: | Objective: To describe the epidemiological situation of congenital syphilis (SC) in the Southeast region of Brazil from 2016 to 2018, noting whether there are significant differences in the analyzed variables.Material and Methods: Prevalence study based on official data from the Brazilian Ministry of Health. The analysis was conducted by adopting tests to compare means and proportions with significance at 0.05.Results: Minas Gerais showed the largest percentage increase in the number and detection rate in the region. Rio de Janeiro (average: 3,982.3 ± 451.59) and São Paulo (average: 3,902.0 ± 208.2) had the highest records, being significantly larger than Espírito Santo (average: 599.6 ± 40.5). The comparison between the state averages revealed p = 0.0237. The analysis of the variables revealed that the results are not significant for “the child’s age at the time of diagnosis” and “the mother’s age group”. “Final diagnosis” and “prenatal care” presented p <0.05 in RJ, SP and MG. “Moment of diagnosis” and “mother’s education” only had significance in RJ and SP. The variable “partner treatment” was significant in all states. Conclusions: The different results regarding the significance between the states demonstrate the different realities faced by each Unit. The observed increase may be the result of both a real increase and more efficient surveillance. |

Universidade LaSalle - Unilasalle CanoasDuarte Santiago, Iago SávyoPaz Lopes, CecíliaSousa Alexandre, Débora MariaLima Cândido, EstelitaCosta Pires, Rener2021-12-03info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/741510.18316/sdh.v9i3.7415Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 9, n. 3 (2021); p. 1-12Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 9, n. 3 (2021); p. 1-122317-8582reponame:Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinstname:Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)instacron:UNILASALLEporhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/7415/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/7415/1681Direitos autorais 2021 Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-03-14T13:40:35Zoai:ojs.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br:article/7415Revistahttp://www.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimentohttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/oaisdh@unilasalle.edu.br2317-85822317-8582opendoar:2022-03-14T13:40:35Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano - Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)false |
