Resumo: Introduction: public health requires a praxis from nutritional science that transposes the traditional biological model of producing health. There are challenges in bringing together the social, economic and cultural contexts of people in the life producing processes. In this sense, the contribution of nutrition to improving the health of the people should be collaborative. Thus, Food and Nutrition Education strategically qualifies the Security of Food and Nutrition. Objectives: describe the experiences of nutrition scholars when carrying out Food and Nutritional Education (FNE) actions for adults, pregnant women and the elderly in a socially vulnerable community. Methods: the diagnosis and recognition of the territory was postulated, followed by the preparation of an action plan, which was executed regularly in services linked to the departments of Education, Health and Social Welfare. The final steps were monitoring and subsequent evaluation.Discussion: implementing care through interactive and multidisciplinary education in which users and professionals work together to educate and promote health, having experienced the role of nutrition in collective health. Conclusion: there is great potential in establishing collaborative bridges. Social vulnerability proved to be relative, and empowerment among participants was observed. We strengthened the importance of preventive actions in Food and Nutrition Education. Adding to popular knowledge also becomes relevant.

Existem desafios em convergir às dimensões do contexto social, econômico e cultural das pessoas nos processos de produção de vida. Nesse sentido, a contribuição da nutrição à melhoria da saúde da população deve ser intersetorial. Assim, a Educação Alimentar e Nutricional (EAN) qualifica estrategicamente a Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional. Universidade LaSalle - Unilasalle CanoasEinsfeld Mattos, Ana CarolinaManfroi, Raquel Bertuol Gargionide Oliveira, Bruna Pedroso ThomazBackes, Vanessa2016-11-25info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/2317-8582.16.3610.18316/2317-8582.16.36Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 4, n. 2 (2016); p. 121-128Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 4, n. 2 (2016); p. 121-1282317-8582reponame:Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinstname:Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)instacron:UNILASALLEporhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/2317-8582.16.36/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/2317-8582.16.36/512info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-04-11T12:37:23Zoai:ojs.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br:article/2849Revistahttp://www.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimentohttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/oaisdh@unilasalle.edu.br2317-85822317-8582opendoar:2022-04-11T12:37:23Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano - Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)false
