Resumo: Introduction: Iodine is an essential micronutrient for the proper development of children. To combat disability, the Organization World Health Council recommended iodization salt universal. However, the mother groupchild remains vulnerable. Objective: The objective of this review was to investigate factors associated with the nutritional status of iodine from nursing mothers and infants.Materials and methods: The review was based on the PRISMA method. The articles were identified in Publisher Medline, Science Direct databases and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences/Virtual Health Library. Articles were included that evaluated the state nutritional value of iodine in nursing mothers and their infants. Results: The studies detected deficiency of iodine in the maternal and infant group, presenting association between the iodine nutritional status of mother and child. In addition, iodine consumption is related to the iodine content in the water and in the salt consumed by the population. the smoking appears to influence milk composition and nutrition of infant iodine, however, this relationship needs to be investigated. Conclusions: The analyzed studies, in their majority point to the need to develop public policy specifically aimed at Iodine nutrition in the maternal-infant group.

No entanto, o grupo materno infantil permanece vulnerável, devido a maior necessidade nutricional. Universidade LaSalle - Unilasalle CanoasAzevedo, Francilene MariaCandido, Aline CarareMacedo, Mariana de SouzaRibeiro, Sarah Aparecida VieiraPriore, Silvia EloizaFranceschini, Sylvia do Carmo Castro2020-03-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/619110.18316/sdh.v8i1.6191Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 8, n. 1 (2020); p. 153-160Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 8, n. 1 (2020); p. 153-1602317-8582reponame:Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinstname:Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)instacron:UNILASALLEporhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/6191/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/6191/1269Direitos autorais 2020 Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-03-31T17:19:10Zoai:ojs.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br:article/6191Revistahttp://www.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimentohttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/oaisdh@unilasalle.edu.br2317-85822317-8582opendoar:2022-03-31T17:19:10Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano - Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)false
