Resumo: Introduction: In the first year of child life, the stages of motor development (MD) progress from simple and disorganized movements to more complex and voluntary movements, and children are susceptible to biological and environmental risks, which may alter childhood DM.Objective: To evaluate the DM of infants enrolled in a Basic Health Unit (BHU) of Coari, Amazonas, and present the possible risk factors for atypical MD.Method: A cross-sectional, observational descriptive study with intentional and non-probabilistic sampling, in which infants enrolled in a UBS were evaluated using questionnaires of clinical, socioeconomic, environmental variables and application of the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS).Results: We evaluated 42 infants, where 92.9% presented normal motor performance. Low family income and low parental schooling were found predominant but without MD interference. The most frequent previous diseases were: pneumonia, urinary infection, diarrhea, malaria, chickenpox, intestinal infection, and whooping cough. No child attended daycare during the evaluation period. Conclusion: Most of the infants belonging to UBS, in the Pêra neighborhood of Coari/AM, had adequate MD, according to AIMS, even though they presented some risk factors for MD, such as prematurity and low levels of income and schooling of their children parents.

Universidade LaSalle - Unilasalle CanoasMendonça, Ayrles Silva Gonçalves BarbosaGonçalves, Eric BrasilFurtado, Michelle Alexandrina dos SantosSantos, Christian Caldeira2018-12-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/484710.18316/sdh.v6i3.4847Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 6, n. 3 (2018); p. 47-54Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 6, n. 3 (2018); p. 47-542317-8582reponame:Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinstname:Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)instacron:UNILASALLEporhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/4847/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/4847/916https://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/4847/917Direitos autorais 2018 Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-04-06T11:52:30Zoai:ojs.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br:article/4847Revistahttp://www.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimentohttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/oaisdh@unilasalle.edu.br2317-85822317-8582opendoar:2022-04-06T11:52:30Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano - Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)false
