Resumo: The objective was to analyze the impact of physical activity on the health of children in adolescents with any criteria for metabolic syndrome.. An integrative review with paired search was performed in the Medline database (PubMed Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online). Thirteen articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. Results from primary intervention studies showed that moderate to vigorous physical activity programs reduce prevalence and improve indicators related to metabolic syndrome. Physical inactivity, sedentary behavior and low aerobic fitness were risk factors increasing the risck for metabolic syndrome and its components. This review showed the impact of physical activity on children and adolescents with any of the criteria of metabolic syndrome and is useful for designing more efficient interventional models, focusing on the practice of moderate to vigorous physical activity and the reduction of sedentary behavior.

Universidade LaSalle - Unilasalle CanoasLoureiro Neto, Francisco MonteiroBorges, José Wictor PereiraMoreira, Thereza Maria MagalhãesMachado, Márcia Maria TavaresGonzalez, Ricardo Hugo2019-10-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/547110.18316/sdh.v7i3.5471Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 7, n. 3 (2019); p. 63-72Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 7, n. 3 (2019); p. 63-722317-8582reponame:Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinstname:Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)instacron:UNILASALLEporhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/5471/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/5471/1051https://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/5471/1226https://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/5471/1244https://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/5471/1245Direitos autorais 2019 Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-03-31T18:08:09Zoai:ojs.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br:article/5471Revistahttp://www.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimentohttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/oaisdh@unilasalle.edu.br2317-85822317-8582opendoar:2022-03-31T18:08:09Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano - Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)false
