Resumo: The work presented here, aimed at regulatory rites of distance education, has as objective to investigate the progress and differences between Decree 5.622 / 2005 and 9057/2017. Therefore, the problem that guided the same is the following: What advances are present in Decree 9,057 / 2017 in relation to Decree 5.622 / 2005? The research undertaken is characterized as documental and bibliographical, presenting historical aspects and regulatory rites of distance education and documentary analysis of the Decrees cited. It is estimated that Decree 9,057 / 2017 evidences the principle of university autonomy, when it opens space for public higher education institutions to have automatic accreditation for the opening of courses, so that Administrative Rule No. 11/2017 comes to supply Elements of this Decree, such as the organization of poles for distance courses.

Para tanto, a problemática que norteou o mesmo é a seguinte: Quais avanços estão presentes no Decreto 9.057/2017 em relação ao Decreto 5.622/2005? A pesquisa empreendida caracteriza-se como de cunho documental e bibliográfico, apresentando aspectos históricos e ritos regulatórios da educação a distância e a análise documental dos Decretos citados.
