Multimodal discourse analysis in a video with mathematical content

Resumo: The educational role of digital media stands out in the current scenario, in which videos stand out for stimulating the senses in the production of knowledge, leading to a new way of knowing. In this context, the research presented in this article analyzes how students perform intersemioses by expressing mathematical ideas in videos and the role of technology in this process. Intersemioses are combinations of semiotic resources and enable semantic expansions in mathematical discourse. The research was developed with undergraduate students in distance education mathematics. The methodology was qualitative, and the virtual participant observation was the procedure used in the data production. The Functional Systemic - Multimodal Discourse Analysis based the investigation. This article presents a clipping from the analysis of one of the videos of this research, which concludes that gestures and music combined with language, symbolism and images enable the transformation of knowledge through semantic expansion in digital mathematical discourse. Distance education.O papel educativo das mídias digitais se destaca no cenário atual do qual os vídeos sobressaem pelo estímulo aos sentidos na produção de conhecimento, levando à uma nova forma de conhecer. Nesse contexto, a pesquisa apresentada neste artigo analisa como estudantes realizam intersemioses ao expressarem ideias matemáticas em vídeos e o papel da tecnologia nesse processo. As intersemioses são combinações de recursos semióticos e possibilitam expansões semânticas no discurso matemático. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida com licenciandos em Matemática da educação a distância. A metodologia foi qualitativa e a observação participante virtual foi o procedimento utilizado na produção dos dados. A Sistêmico Funcional – Análise do Discurso Multimodal fundamentou a investigação. Este artigo apresenta um recorte da análise de um dos vídeos dessa pesquisa, da qual se conclui que gestos e música combinados com linguagem, simbolismo e imagens possibilitam a transformação do conhecimento pela expansão semântica no discurso matemático digital.
