Resumo: The special issue "Elites and Institutions" aims to present research on the subject of elites and their relationship with different social institutions. In addition to the research itself, the document also publicises the authors themselves, who are dedicated to researching this topic and, for the most part, are still in the process of studying for a doctorate or entering the academic field as professors. The very subject of elite studies, as we can generically call it, no longer occupies a central place in the social sciences, as it once did, especially in political sociology and political science. As a result, we have a small group of researchers, gathered around a few supervisors at certain universities.

As a result, we have a small group of researchers, gathered around a few supervisors at certain universities.El objetivo principal de este dossier, "Élites e Instituciones", es presentar investigaciones sobre el tema de las élites y su relación con diferentes instituciones sociales. Además de la investigación en sí, el dossier también pretende dar a conocer a los propios autores que se dedican a la investigación de este tema y que, en su mayoría, se encuentran todavía en proceso de doctorado o de incorporación al ámbito académico como profesores. El propio tema de los estudios de élite, como podemos denominarlo genéricamente, ya no ocupa un lugar central en las ciencias sociales, como antaño, especialmente en la sociología política y la ciencia política. Como resultado, tenemos un pequeño grupo de investigadores, reunidos en torno a unos pocos supervisores en determinadas universidades.O presente dossiê, “Elites e Instituições”, tem como objetivo principal a apresentação de pesquisas que se inserem dentro da temática de estudos das elites e as suas relações com diferentes instituições sociais. Para além das pesquisas em si mesmas, o dossiê também tem como objetivo a divulgação dos próprios autores, que se dedicam a pesquisar este tema e, em sua maioria, ainda estão em processo de formação, cursando doutorado, ou de inserção no campo acadêmico, como professores. A própria temática dos estudos das elites, como podemos nomear de modo genérico, não ocupa mais um lugar central nas ciências sociais, como já ocupou em outros tempos, principalmente na sociologia política e ciência política.
