Resumo: The article focuses on themes that transcend the socio-historical contexts of the people of the “eastern forests” throughout the 19th century. Intercutting specific empirical situations, the research sought to focus on more-than-human dimensions in the interpretation of events presented in historical and ethnographic sources. Composed of four parts, the work begins with a historical-ethnographic characterization of those people, followed by a brief theoretical-methodological argument that supports the analyzes on the historicity of the Borum based on categories of cosmological/warrior shamanism. Finally, taking a leap in time, the research finds the Krenak at the end of the 20th century in their demands for the recognition of their sacred territory populated by mythical beings.

Intercalando situaciones empíricas específicas, la investigación buscó centrarse en algo dimensiones más-que-las-humanas en la lectura de eventos presentados en fuentes históricas y etnográficas. Compuesto por cuatro partes, el trabajo comienza con una caracterización histórico-etnográfica de esos pueblos, seguida de una breve argumentación teórico-metodológica que sustenta los análisis sobre la historicidad de los Borum, basados en categorías del chamanismo cosmológico/guerrero. Finalmente, dando un salto en el tiempo, la investigación encuentra a los Krenak a finales del siglo XX en sus demandas por el reconocimiento de su territorio sagrado poblado por seres míticos.O artigo se debruça sobre temas que transcendem os contextos sócio-históricos dos povos das “matas do leste” ao longo do século XIX. Entrecortando situações empíricas específicas, a pesquisa buscou enfocar dimensões outras-que-humanas na leitura de eventos apresentados em fontes históricas e etnográficas. Composto por quatro partes, o trabalho se inicia com uma caracterização histórico-etnográfica daqueles povos, seguida de breve argumentação de cunho teórico-metodológico que fundamenta as análises sobre a historicidade dos Borum, calcada em categorias do xamanismo cosmológico/guerreiro.
