Resumo: This article explores, on the basis of Darcy Ribeiro's encounter with Glauber Rocha, a certain imagetic field of Brazil that circulates between the two authors, in order to highlight a more radical view of the country's social problems from the many textual and cinematographic images created by the works of these two Brazilian intellectuals. We assume that Darcy's encounter with Glauber and their shared enchantment synthesized the expectations of both of them in relation to an image of a deep Brazil that is unknown to its own people.

En diálogo con los discursos del antropólogo en este evento y en la conocida polémica de 1979 con Roberto Da Matta, los dos autores, a partir de sus investigaciones sobre la historia del movimiento indígena en Brasil, discuten el significado de las acciones públicas y pronunciamientos de Darcy en el período de la redemocratización del país.O artigo explora, a partir do encontro de Darcy Ribeiro com Glauber Rocha, certo campo imagético do Brasil que circula nos dois autores a fim de destacar uma visão mais radical dos problemas sociais do país desde as várias imagens textuais e cinematográficas produzidas pelas obras desses dois intelectuais brasileiros.
