Changes in the landscape from agroecological practices

Resumo: This article analyzes how the agroecological practices, developed by the farmers of the Group for Agroecological Consumption, contribute to the transformation of the landscape and the constitution of socioagrobiodiversity. The research, of qualitative approach, was carried out through field research with participant observation and secondary data collection with satellite images. The analyses took place based on two stages that complement each other: satellite images and the life history of farmers in order to understand the changes in the landscape. The results of this work show that the agroecological practices of GRUCA’s farmers are alternatives for transforming transformation of landscapes with low agrobiodiversity resulting from predatory economic activities into agrobiodiverse landscapes. It is also noteworthy that the farmers' agroecological practices were perfected based on their life trajectories, interaction with natural, technical, and financial resources, and a network of people and social movements available in the territory. This perspective is reflected in the diversity of practices and also of landscapes.

La investigación, con enfoque cualitativo, se llevó a cabo a través de investigación de campo con observación participante, y recolección de datos secundarios con imágenes satelitales. Los análisis se realizaron a partir de dos etapas que se complementan: las imágenes satelitales y la historia de vida de los agricultores para comprender los cambios en el paisaje. Los resultados de este trabajo muestran que las prácticas agroecológicas de los agricultores del GRUCA son alternativas para transformar paisajes con baja agrobiodiversidad producto de actividades económicas depredadoras en paisajes agrobiodiversos. También cabe señalar que las prácticas agroecológicas de los agricultores se perfeccionaron a partir de sus trayectorias de vida, la interacción con los recursos naturales, técnicos y financieros y una red de personas y movimientos sociales disponibles en el territorio. Esta perspectiva se refleja en la diversidad de prácticas y también de paisajes.Este artigo analisa como as práticas agroecológicas, desenvolvidas pelos agricultores do Grupo para Consumo Agroecológico (GRUCA), da Região Metropolitana de Belém (RMB) e proximidades, contribuem para a transformação da paisagem. A pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa, foi realizada através de pesquisa de campo com observação participante, e coleta de dados secundários com imagens de satélite. As análises aconteceram com base em duas etapas que se complementam: imagens de satélite e história de vida dos agricultores de modo a compreender as mudanças na paisagem. Os resultados deste trabalho evidenciam que as práticas agroecológicas dos agricultores do GRUCA apresentam-se como alternativas para a transformação de paisagens com baixa agrobiodiversidade resultante de atividades econômicas predatórias em paisagens agrobiodiversas. Ressalta-se, ainda, que as práticas agroecológicas dos agricultores foram aperfeiçoadas a partir de suas trajetórias de vida, da interação com os recursos naturais, técnicos, financeiros e de uma rede de pessoas e movimentos sociais disponíveis no território.
