Resumo: This article aims to discuss the new dynamics of urbanization in western Bahia. Therefore, it was analyzed the centers of settlement that have been showing rapid urban and population growth as a reflection of the accelerated modernization, driven by agribusiness and through recent public policies in the subspaces of this region. The methodology was guided on a survey of data in the field, as well as in secondary sources, aiming to think over about the alteration of the forms and contents of the regional urban system, from the last decades, especially due to the presence of new technical and informational objects.

The methodology was guided on a survey of data in the field, as well as in secondary sources, aiming to think over about the alteration of the forms and contents of the regional urban system, from the last decades, especially due to the presence of new technical and informational objects.Este artículo pretende analizar a propósito de las nuevas dinámicas de la urbanización en Región Oeste de Bahía. Entonces, se analizó los núcleos de poblamiento que presentan un pronto crecimiento urbano y de población como reflejo de la modernización acelerada, impulsada por los agronegocios y a través de las políticas públicas recientes en los sub espacios de esa región. La metodología se basó en levantamiento de datos en el campo, incluso en fuentes secundarias, pretendiendo reflejar sobre la alteración de las maneras y contenidos del sistema urbano regional, en esas últimas décadas, sobretodo en razón de la presencia de nuevos objetos técnicos e informacionales.Este artigo busca discutir sobre as novas dinâmicas da urbanização no oeste da Bahia. Para tanto, analisou-se os núcleos de povoamento que vêm apresentando um rápido crescimento urbano e populacional como reflexo da modernização acelerada, impulsionada pelo agronegócio e por meio das políticas públicas recentes nos subespaços dessa região.
