Resumo: The objective of this work is to analyze the temporal dynamics of the landscape and measure the state of environmental conservation of the municipality of Denise, in the State of Mato Grosso, in the perspective of generating information that contributes to environmental planning. The maps of vegetation cover and land uses were drawn from images of Landsat-5 satellites from 1998 and 2008 and Landsat-8 from 2018. Georeferencing, clipping and classification processes were performed. The measurement of the state of environmental conservation was performed by applying the Anthropic Transformation Index (ITA). During the analysis period, it was observed a growth of the classes agriculture (66.97%), natural forest vegetation (1.79%) and anthropic uses (32.40%). Meanwhile, there was a reduction in pasture areas (33.54%), which were converted into agriculture, especially sugarcane cultivation. The Permanent Preservation Areas (PPAs) presented 25.42% in disagreement with environmental legislation. The ITA was classified as regular. It is concluded that although the municipality does not present worsening in the state of environmental conservation, the increase in the value of anthropic pressure on the landscape suggests that there should be a greater concern with environmental issues, paying attention to more sensitive areas such as PPAs, which perform important ecological functions.

Editora Unimontes2021-03-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigoapplication/pdfhttps://www.periodicos.unimontes.br/index.php/cerrados/article/view/237010.46551/rc24482692202107 Revista Cerrados; v. 19 n. 01 (2021): Revista Cerrados ; 160-1802448-26921678-834610.46551/rc2448269220211901reponame:Revista Cerrados (Montes Claros.
