Permanent plots for monitoring the Cerrado biome

Resumo: | One way of monitoring changes in the Cerrado biome's plant communities over time is by installing permanent plots. Studies on this subject are important for understanding the dynamics of the biome and proposing appropriate management plans for its conservation. Therefore, this study aims to present a systematic review of scientific articles that have monitored the Cerrado biome using permanent plots. To carry out the systematic literature review, searches were made in the Scopus and Web of Science databases between 1997 and 2022. A total of 77 articles were found on the subject, 61% studied temporal changes in tree vegetation, the Cerrado sensu stricto phytophysiognomy has the largest number of studies on this subject, 35% of permanent plots are 20x50 size and the state of Mato Grosso has the most studies using permanent plots, while Mato Grosso do Sul is the state that has fewer studies. There was a lack of research into different Cerrado phytophysiognomies, as well as a concentration of studies in just a few Brazilian states. |

Los estudios sobre este tema son importantes para comprender la dinámica del bioma y proponer planes de gestión adecuados para su conservación. Teniendo esto en cuenta, este estudio pretende presentar una revisión sistemática de artículos científicos que han monitoreado el bioma del Cerrado utilizando parcelas permanentes. Para llevar a cabo la revisión sistemática de la literatura, se realizaron búsquedas en las bases de datos Scopus y Web of Science entre 1997 y 2022. Se encontraron 77 artículos sobre el tema, de los cuales el 61% estudiaba los cambios temporales de la vegetación arbórea, la fitofisonomía del Cerrado sensu stricto tiene el mayor número de estudios sobre el tema, el 35% de las parcelas permanentes son de 20x50 y el estado de Mato Grosso tiene el mayor número de estudios utilizando parcelas permanentes, mientras Mato Grosso do Sul es el estado que tiene menos estúdios sobre el tema. Hubo una falta de investigación sobre las diferentes fitofisonomías del Cerrado, así como una concentración de estudios en sólo unos pocos estados brasileños.Uma forma de monitorar as mudanças nas comunidades vegetais do bioma Cerrado ao longo do tempo é através da instalação de parcelas permanentes. Estudos dessa temática são importantes para conhecer a dinâmica do bioma e propor planos de manejo adequados para sua conservação. Neste sentido, esse estudo tem como objetivo apresentar uma revisão sistemática de artigos científicos que realizaram o monitoramento do bioma Cerrado utilizando parcelas permanentes. Para realizar a revisão sistemática de literatura, foram feitas buscas nas bases de dados Scopus e Web of Science, entre 1997 e 2022. Foram encontrados 77 artigos com a temática proposta, onde 61% dos artigos estudou as mudanças temporais da vegetação arbórea, a fitofisionomia de Cerrado sensu stricto é a que possui o maior número de estudos dessa temática, 35% das parcelas permanentes tem dimensões e 20x50 e o estado do Mato Grosso é o que mais possui estudos com parcelas permanentes, enquanto que o Mato Grosso do Sul é o estado que possui menos estudos com a temática.
