ANALYSIS OF MAJOR GREEN IT PRACTICES WITH THE USE OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES: MULTIPLE STUDY

Resumo: The article aims to establish relationships and classifications between attributes of the Lunardi, Frio and Brum (2011) model on the main Green IT practices adopted by organizations. For this descriptive work, document analysis and content analysis were used with the support of NVivo software, which involved multiple sources of data collection with the use of internal and external websites, surveys, public documents and interviews conducted in the digital media for 15 cases identified by their Green IT practices. As a result, we have observed features in the adoption of sustainable measures in some organizations regarding responsibilities for the use of new emerging technologies, including cloud computing, datacenter and virtualization that incorporate social and environmental aspects. The companies surveyed have demonstrated to an “Advanced” and “Moderate” stage that Green IT initiatives and practices contribute to the sustainability of their business, since many of them are included in different activities in the market as observed in the analyzed cases.

Para este trabajo descriptivo se utilizó el análisis documental y el análisis de contenido con el apoyo del software NVivo que involucró múltiples fuentes de recolección de datos con uso de sitios web internos y externos a las empresas, investigaciones, documentos públicos y entrevistas en los medios digitales a 15 de los casos identificados por sus prácticas de TI Verde. Como resultado, se observaron características en la adopción de medidas sostenibles en algunas organizaciones relativas a las responsabilidades en el uso de nuevas tecnologías emergentes, entre ellas, cloud computing, datacenter y virtualización que incorporen aspectos sociales y ambientales. Las empresas analizadas demostraron dentro de una etapa de “Avanzado” y “Moderado” que iniciativas y prácticas de TI Verde colaboran para la sostenibilidad de sus negocios, dado que muchas de estas están insertas en actividades distintas en el mercado según lo observado en los casos analizados.O artigo tem como objetivo estabelecer relações e classificações entre atributos do modelo de Lunardi, Frio e Brum (2011) sobre as principais práticas de TI Verde adotadas pelas organizações. Para este trabalho descritivo foram utilizadas a análise documental e a análise de conteúdo com o apoio do software NVivo que envolveu múltiplas fontes de coletas de dados com uso de websites internos e externos às empresas, pesquisas, documentos públicos e entrevistas veiculadas na mídia digital para 15 casos identificados pelas suas práticas de TI Verde. Como resultado, observaram-se características na adoção de medidas sustentáveis em algumas organizações relativas as responsabilidades no uso de novas tecnologias emergentes, entre elas, cloud computing, datacenter e virtualização que incorporem aspectos sociais e ambientais.
