Strategies and Socioeconomic and Environmental Sustainability: Study of the Producer Segment of Meat Industry

Resumo: | In the course of the emerging needs of society and the environment for the economic sectors act with sustainability, agrifood cooperatives of meat industry (CASC) face management and strategy challenges to achieve better performance. Approaching different links of the production chain, some studies were conducted in a CASC, including this article, in order to verify if there were strategic economic, social or environmental sustainable actions from COOPERALIANÇA’s meat producers, its consequent organizational results and influence from the environment. The methodology was characterized by case study and the interviews with business leaders of the link chain producer were semi-structured. A content analysis was done. Among the most important results, influences from other links in the supply chain were found in strategic pro-sustainability action, which are not voluntarily made by producers and are influenced by interorganizational macroenvironment. Social activities were stimulated by public policies. It was also found a lack of long-term sustainability programs and strategic actions but cooperation and accountability occurred between the links, mostly because of interests of win-win that increased commitment and facilitated their interorganizational functions. However it was not found information in the interest of reconciliation between organizational outcomes and socioeconomic and environmental sustainability. With these results it was found adherence to the organizational ecology approach. |

With these results it was found adherence to the organizational ecology approach.En el curso de las nuevas necesidades de la sociedad y del medio ambiente, para que los sectores económicos actúen con la sostenibilidad, las cooperativas agroalimentarias del sector de la carne (CASC) enfrentan desafíos de gestión y de estrategia para lograr un mejor desempeño. Con vistas a estos desafíos en diferentes eslabones de la cadena productiva, fueron realizados algunos estudios en una CASC, entre ellos ese artículo, con el objetivo de verificar si hubieron acciones de sostenibilidad socioeconómica o ambiental utilizadas por los productores de carne bovina que signifiquen estrategias con la COOPERALIANÇA, y consecuentemente, resultados organizacionales, y si son preponderantes con el ambiente. La metodología está caracterizada por el estudio del caso, las entrevistas realizadas de manera semi- estructuradas y en profundidad con los dirigentes del eslabón productor de la cadena, además del análisis del discurso. Entre los resultados más importantes, se constató influencias de otros eslabones de la cadena productiva en acciones estratégicas pro sostenibilidad, que no son voluntarias y están influenciadas por el macro ambiente inter organizacional, mientras que las sociales son estimuladas por las políticas públicas. También se verificó la inexistencia de programas de sostenibilidad y acciones estratégicas de largo plazo, siendo que hubo cooperación y responsabilidad entre los eslabones, por intereses de "gana-gana" que aumentaron el comprometimiento y facilitaron sus funciones inter-organizacionales, aunque no se ha encontrado informaciones de interés de conciliación entre los resultados organizacionales y la sostenibilidad socioeconómica y ambiental. Con estos resultados se comprobó la adherencia del abordaje de la ecología organizacional.No curso das necessidades emergentes da sociedade e do meio ambiente para que os setores econômicos atuem com sustentabilidade, as cooperativas agroalimentares do setor de carne (CASC) enfrentam desafios de gestão e estratégia para obterem o melhor desempenho. Com vistas a esses desafios em diferentes elos da cadeia produtiva, foram realizados alguns estudos em uma CASC, entre eles este artigo, com o objetivo de verificar ações de sustentabilidade socioeconômica ou ambiental utilizadas pelos produtores de carne bovina que signifiquem estratégias com a COOPERALIANÇA, e consequentes resultados organizacionais, e se são preponderantes com o ambiente. A metodologia está caracterizada pelo estudo de caso, as entrevistas realizadas de maneira semiestruturadas e em profundidade com dirigentes de negócios do elo produtor da cadeia, além da análise de discurso. Dentre os resultados mais importantes, foram constatadas influências de outros elos da cadeia produtiva em ações estratégicas pró-sustentabilidade, que não são voluntárias e são influenciadas pelo macroambiente interorganizacional, sendo as sociais estimuladas por políticas públicas. Também se verificou a inexistência de programas de sustentabilidade e ações estratégicas de longo prazo, havendo cooperação e responsabilidade entre os elos, por interesses de “ganha-ganha”, que aumentaram o comprometimento e facilitaram suas funções interorganizacionais, ainda que não se tenha encontrado informações do interesse de conciliação entre resultados organizacionais e sustentabilidade socioeconômica e ambiental.
