Resumo: Develop software with quality and acceptable costs it´s a market requirement and premise in IT management on the organizations. Looking for efficiency, the enterprises invest each time more in quality’s process and models such as CMMI. An important tool to drive this investments is COSQ - cost of software quality. This concept is widespread in manufacturing industry, but still have a few papers in IT area. In this context we led a research using the theory of cost of software quality to analyze the results and impacts of implementation of level 2 and 3 from the CCMMI model in an organization of software development. The methodology adopted was a case study, the data were collected and organized in categories and a comparative analyses was made. The results shown cost reduction in projects of great size, however it is not happens in small projects. Also, the results pointed out the difficulty in register and maintenance of the category’s cost.

Na busca por eficiência as empresas investem cada vez mais em processos de qualidade e modelos como o CMMI. Uma ferramenta importante para direcionar estes investimentos, embora ainda pouco explorada pelas corporações, é o Custo de Qualidade de Software. Este conceito, bastante difundido na indústria de manufatura, ainda possui poucos trabalhos na área da Tecnologia da Informação. Neste contexto foi conduzido este estudo que utilizou a teoria do Custo de Qualidade de Software para analisar os resultados e o impacto da implantação dos níveis 2 e 3 do modelo CMMI em uma empresa de desenvolvimento de software de porte médio. Adotando como metodologia o estudo de caso, os dados de uma amostra de projetos foram coletados e organizados em categorias, servindo de base para a realização de análises comparativas que permitiram verificar ganhos e oportunidades de melhoria. O estudo apresentou como resultado redução satisfatória de custos em projetos de grande porte, o mesmo não ocorrendo nos projetos de menor porte.
