Resumo: The present article approaches the subject of the human body during physical education classes. It initiates from a historical revision of the physical education, and its present situation where the school sport performance is taking over the school physical education. Marcel Mauss’ concepts enter in the discussion referring to the work form; firstly, these forms analyze the student past knowledge and later apply them by a methodology in the class based on the experiences of the subject. The search of student performance, especially in the physical education classes, is very different from what we have nowadays.

O trabalho parte de uma revisão histórica da Educação Física, e apresenta a situação atual, aonde o esporte estudantil de rendimento vem tomando conta da Educação Física Escolar. Os conceitos de trabalho de Marcel Mauss entram na discussão no que se refere à forma de trabalho, onde essas formas analisam, primeiro o passado do aluno, para depois aplicar uma metodologia na aula que tem por base as experiências vividas pelo aluno.
