The school physical education and the practical involvement of students: The use of exergames

Resumo: BACKGROUND: There is an evasion of students in school Physical Education classes that in the long term can have consequences such as demotivation in physical activities, suggesting an innovation in classes, for example the use of technology. The exergame is a video game platform with the possibility of motor interaction that presents challenges and allows the practice of physical activity, which can be used in the different contents of Physical Education classes and that provides an expansion of the teaching-learning process at school.OBJECTIVE: Check whether activities through exergames can reintegrate students who do not participate in Physical Education classes.METHODS: The study has a qualitative character of the research-action type, the research was carried out in a state school in the city of Ouro Preto with four classes of Elementary School II, which had the following procedures: observation, intervention, and interview.RESULTS: It was observed in physical education classes, that at various times the students were unmotivated with the activities, and with the insertion of electronic games, a greater motivation of the students in the practices was obtained. There were positive reports about the use of exergames, both for body practice and because the activity was pleasurable for students. Some resistance to the practice was still perceived, for example, in dance activities, however, many reports of students who did not practice, progressed with the use of technology.CONCLUSION: Realize that the exergame is a tool in Physical Education classes capable of motivating students to participate in the activities proposed by the teacher.

O exergame é uma plataforma de videogame com a possibilidade de interação motora que apresenta desafios e permite a prática de atividade física, podendo ser utilizado nos diversos conteúdos das aulas de Educação Física e que proporciona uma ampliação do processo de ensino-aprendizagem na escola.OBJETIVO: Verificar se atividades através dos exergames são capazes de reintegrar os alunos que não participam das aulas de Educação Física.MÉTODOS: O estudo tem o caráter qualitativo do tipo pesquisa-ação, a pesquisa foi realizada em uma escola estadual da cidade de Ouro Preto (MG) com quatro turmas do Ensino Fundamental II, que teve como procedimentos: observação, intervenção e entrevista. RESULTADOS: Foi observado nas aulas de educação física, que em vários momentos os alunos estavam desmotivados com as atividades, e com a inserção dos jogos eletrônicos, obteve-se uma motivação maior dos alunos nas práticas. Houve relatos positivos sobre a utilização dos exergames, tanto pela prática corporal, quanto pela atividade ter sido prazerosa para os alunos.
