Resumo: OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to evaluate teachers’ perception of basic artistic gymnastics (AG) floor jumps, main characteristics, execution errors and how to teach them. METHODS: To this end, five AG experts participated as qualified oral sources for this research. Participants received an online form containing an invitation letter, space to fill in personal information, their academic background and experience in teaching the sport, and questions to be answered in audios sent by WhatsApp to the researchers. RESULTS: The results showed that all respondents have varied experience with the sport. There was no consensus on what are the basic floor jumps in AG, but five were mentioned by all interviewees: extended, tucked, wide, pike and half-turn. CONCLUSION: This exploratory research showed that, even among specialists, there may be a difference in understanding about what are the basic jumps of the sport, their way of performing and teaching these sports techniques.
