Resumo: | This paper presents the results of a research that was developed in the period from September to December 2014 with high school students from a network school of Caçapava do Sul / RS, during the Guided Studies Group (GEO). It is The purpose of this research was to identify the students' prior knowledge about the And to investigate the potentialities of working Quadratic Function through Problem Solving (PR) methodology with Basic Education students. The The theoretical references addressed in this research instigated a review of in magazines with the objective of ascertaining the use of RP and Quadratic Function. THE sample is made up of five journals from the area and 172 articles were published in the period between 2005 and 2014. To obtain data was used the research qualitative (LÜDKE, ANDRÉ, 1986). It was used as a research tool a daily observations were made by the academic during the search, an initial and final questionnaire, a block of problems and audio recordings, to transcripts of the students' speeches. From this research it was evident that students did not have the knowledge of the content and did not know the PR methodology. Between the potential of the teaching through the PR methodology, observed during the research, is motivation, strategy development and the development of logical reasoning. |

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivos identificar os conhecimentos prévios dos alunos sobre Função Quadrática e investigar as potencialidades de trabalhar Função Quadrática através da metodologia de Resolução de Problemas (RP) com alunos da Educação Básica. Os referenciais teóricos abordados nesta investigação instigaram a fazer uma revisão de artigos em revistas com o objetivo de averiguar o uso das temáticas RP e Função Quadrática. A amostra é constituída por cinco periódicos da área e foram encontrados 172 artigos publicados no período compreendido entre 2005 e 2014. Para obtenção de dados utilizou-se a pesquisa qualitativa (LÜDKE; ANDRÉ, 1986). Foi utilizado como instrumento de pesquisa um diário de campo em que foram registradas observações feitas pelo acadêmico durante o processo de pesquisa, um questionário inicial e final, um bloco de problemas e gravações de áudio, para transcrições das falas dos estudantes. A partir desta pesquisa ficou evidente que os estudantes não tinham o conhecimento do conteúdo e não conheciam a metodologia de RP.
