Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho é observar de que forma a morte é representada contemporaneamente nas obras literárias A Menina que Roubava Livros, de Markus Zusak, e As Intermitências da Morte, de José Saramago, e também nas obras fílmicas Uma Sombra que Passa, de Mitchell Leisen, e O Sétimo Selo, de Ingmar Bergman. Para tanto, seguiremos alguns passos. Primeiramente, investigaremos como o homem ocidental se comportava perante a morte e como se comporta atualmente; veremos também de que forma as obras literárias ajudam a formar o imaginário atual sobre a morte. Em um segundo momento, com base na Teoria da Adaptação de Linda Hutcheon, analisaremos de que forma as obras literárias e as obras fílmicas se assemelham e/ou diferenciam na representação da morte.

Also in the films Death Takes a Holiday, directed by Mitchell Leisen, and The Seventh Seal, by Ingmar Bergman. To do so, we are going to follow some steps. First, we will investigate western men used to behave towards Death and how they behave nowadays, we will also study how the chosen literary works help building the imaginary about Death.
