Resumo: | This article´s purpose is to bring contributions to the discussion of the criminal rehabilitation through the application of deprivation of liberty preserving the dignity of the prisoner through the development of public educational service in prisons. Using a research plan based in the descriptive analysis which was conducted through bibliographical revision, it’s going to be investigated how the public service of education can apply the fundamental rights of the prisoners, which are currently being systematically violated. Rethink prison as a strict punitive model, through the development and implementation of social educational services, is a way to restore the dignity of prisoners and offer a real perspective to re-socialization, considering education not only as a formal process, but a process of intellectual formation and professional training of the prisoner, building up possibilities for improvement and transformation of the life of the prisoner after prison. |

Utilizando um plano de pesquisa fundamentado na análise descritiva feita a partir de revisão bibliográfica, investigaremos como o serviço público da educação pode efetivar os direitos fundamentais dos reclusos, que atualmente são sistematicamente violados. Repensar a prisão como modelo estritamente punitivo, a partir da elaboração e implementação de serviços públicos educacionais, é uma forma de resgatar a dignidade do preso e oferecer uma perspectiva real de ressocialização, considerando a educação não apenas como um processo formal, mas sim um processo de formação intelectual e profissionalizante do recluso, construindo-se possibilidades de melhoria e transformação da vida do preso após o cárcere.Centro Universitário Salesiano de São Paulo - U.E.
