Resumo: In the process of learning a foreign language, one of the most asked tasks is the writing in this target language. However, theses writings usually come up as a stereotyped dialogs, or a writing of a previously memorized vocabulary to fill in blanks of a linguistics structure that is in the process of learning by the students: a formal repetition. So, to make the students write a text in the target language without giving them structures and lexicon to be rigorously followed is an activity that can involve the students in the assumption of authorship’s process. The aim of this paper is to present an analysis of a text’s version (English-Portuguese) that was applied in the English as a foreign language class. Through French Discourse Analysis theory, it is noticed that this activity is not able to make the students assume the position of author.
