Resumo: | Objective: To provide the containment of the HIV transmission chain, early diagnosis and epidemiological profile of patients to know the main forms of HIV transmission. In this sense, the study aims to analyze the epidemiological profile and the variables of transmissibility of users with HIV/ AIDS in the city of Imperatriz-MA. Methodology: This is an observational cross-sectional study, data collection was performed from the analysis of user records registered in the CTA from 2017 to 2020. For data collection, a questionnaire with transmission variables and epidemiological characteristics of patients was used. Results: 2896 medical records were recorded and January 2017 to December 2020. Of these, 71.6% were male, 55.5% of the participants were between 21 and 40 years and 66.4% of Imperatriz - MA. The most prevalent type of exposure was sexual intercourse without a condom. Among the participants, 83.9% (n=177) were positive only for HIV. About 140 people with HIV had undetectable viral load (< 50 copies/ml) after 6 months using antiretroviral therapy, making it low transmissibility. Conclusions: We identified a decrease in HIV cases, especially between the period 2019 to 2020, due to the probable underreporting of cases in this interval and a decrease in the demand for diagnostic tests. In addition, despite the increase in the number of cases in women, the public most affected remains, being young men and sexual intercourse without a condom as the main form of exposure. |
