STANDARD PRECAUTIONS AND PRACAUTIONS BASED ON TRANSMISSION OF DISEASES: LITERATURE REVIEW

Backgound and Objectives: to ensure that precautions are instituted in professional practice becomes relevant membership of the same, opposite to this, professionals must maintain appropriate attitudes and possess technical knowledge on the subject. This study aimed to expose the types of Standard Precautions and Transmission Based on transmission of disease and the importance of adopting the same in the hospital environment. Contents: according to Standard Precautions studied the literature are all procedures that should be adopted during care to any patient in order to reduce the risk of transmission of microorganisms sources of infection. The Transmission-Based Precautions are prepared in accordance with the mechanism of transmission of the disease and referred for suspected patients known to be infected or colonized with transmissible pathogens and epidemiological importance. Conclusion: it is apparent the need for discussions on the subject and the stimulus to the accession of such measures in hospitals, highlighting the important role of nurses in the prevention and control of disease transmission.
