Resumo: Starting with an approach to the anthropological dimension of culture, this proposal aims at deepening the complex phenomenon of the set of illicit drugs – production, circulation, consumption and traffi cking – from a cultural view that helps us to grasp and understand this theme beyond its treatment as a police theme and rarely as an economic, social, and cultural phenomenon highly intricate. Adopting this perspective helps us understand why this phenomenon, which is relevant and present in our reality, is faced and discussed in a superfi cially or restricted way. An approach from a cultural perspective involves facing its ideology, its icons, its constructed values and meanings that feed a real culture in broad social layers. Our hypothesis leads us to identify and understand in what manners certain narratives that report and problematize this phenomenon are based on a “drug culture” that favors the mentioned aspects and neglects many other that are fundamental for the enlargement of the question. In order to achieve this proposal, we intend to discuss this matt er by analyzing a specific television product – “Crack” – a telejournalism broadcasted by the Jornal Nacional (TV Globo) in May 2013 in order to see how the media treatment on the consumption and other elements reinforce the hypothesis elaborated. Keywords: telejournalism, telejournalism series, drug culture.

Verso e Reverso2015-09-14info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/article/view/ver.2015.29.72.0210.4013/ver.2015.29.72.02Verso e Reverso; v. 29 n. 72: Ano XXIX - 2015/3; 144-1541806-6925reponame:Verso e Reverso (Online)instname:Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)instacron:UNISINOSporhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/article/view/ver.2015.29.72.02/4907Rocha, Simone MariaOliveira, Livia Fernandesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2015-12-07T10:34:40Zoai:ojs2.revistas.unisinos.br:article/9614Revistahttp://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereversoPRIhttp://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/oaiperiodicos@unisinos.br||bmarocco@unisinos.br1806-69250103-1414opendoar:2015-12-07T10:34:40Verso e Reverso (Online) - Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)false
