Resumo: This article presents a discussion from a bibliographic survey of empirical studies that relate the thematic elderly and information and communication technologies with the aim of understanding how it has been treated in the academic world. For this survey, 50 studies were selected from international publications whose reference was the theme gerontechnology, emphasizing Brazil and Portugal. We concluded that the academic literature indicates that the use of ICT can help the elderly improve their quality of life, decrease solitude, increase access to information and the frequency of the communication with family. This makes us reflect on the need for the development of an interdisciplinary approach to technological research and for the development of services and applications in the field of health and well-being, as well as the socialization of the elderly. Keywords: information and communication technologies (ICT), aging, academic studies.

Verso e Reverso2016-06-25info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/article/view/ver.2016.31.76.0210.4013/ver.2016.31.76.02Verso e Reverso; v. 31 n. 76: janeiro/abril - 2017/1; 14-251806-6925reponame:Verso e Reverso (Online)instname:Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)instacron:UNISINOSporhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/article/view/ver.2016.31.76.02/5836Azevedo, Celianainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2017-08-30T18:35:36Zoai:ojs2.revistas.unisinos.br:article/11048Revistahttp://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereversoPRIhttp://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/oaiperiodicos@unisinos.br||bmarocco@unisinos.br1806-69250103-1414opendoar:2017-08-30T18:35:36Verso e Reverso (Online) - Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)false
