Resumo: | This study analyzes the Brazilian press’ tendency to publish stories with denunciations during the six separate years of presidential elections that happened after the military regime, which means a period of over 20 years. The chosen corpus are the country’s three main weekly magazines: Época, IstoÉ and Veja. The conclusion is that the average number of stories containing denunciations almost tripled since 2002, when compared to the 1989-1998 period. A bibliographic review was employed to show that the Brazilian press’ preference for denunciation, apart from being related to thecountry’s democratic progress, can be explained by some of journalism’s main theories.Key words: journalism, magazines, watchdog journalism. |

Verso e Reverso2013-07-23info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/article/view/ver.2013.27.65.0110.4013/ver.2013.27.65.01Verso e Reverso; v. 27 n. 65: Ano XXVII - 2013/2; 68-761806-6925reponame:Verso e Reverso (Online)instname:Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)instacron:UNISINOSporhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/article/view/ver.2013.27.65.01/2328Nascimento, Solanoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2015-01-09T16:38:07Zoai:ojs2.revistas.unisinos.br:article/4189Revistahttp://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereversoPRIhttp://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/oaiperiodicos@unisinos.br||bmarocco@unisinos.br1806-69250103-1414opendoar:2015-01-09T16:38:07Verso e Reverso (Online) - Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)false |
