Resumo: The objective of this work is to discuss the relationship between media, information and communication technology, generation and audience and, more specifically, to understand how these connections can be important in the construction of the generational identity (Aroldi, 2011) and how people, who was born in an specific moment use the media as a way to construct their collective identity (Aroldi, 2011). We worked with elderly people who spend their childhood and youth in Portugal and we chose focus groups as a tool for research because it is known as a good methodology to interact with old people. In the sequence of the observations, the article argues that it is impossible to dine that our reality is almost inseparable of the media.Key words: ICT, generational identity, elderly, media, memory.

Verso e Reverso2013-10-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/article/view/ver.2013.27.66.0910.4013/ver.2013.27.66.09Verso e Reverso; v. 27 n. 66: Ano XXVII - 2013/3; 227-2351806-6925reponame:Verso e Reverso (Online)instname:Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)instacron:UNISINOSporhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/article/view/ver.2013.27.66.09/3796Azevedo, Celianainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2015-01-09T16:40:54Zoai:ojs2.revistas.unisinos.br:article/5423Revistahttp://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereversoPRIhttp://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/versoereverso/oaiperiodicos@unisinos.br||bmarocco@unisinos.br1806-69250103-1414opendoar:2015-01-09T16:40:54Verso e Reverso (Online) - Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)false
