The mail goal of this article is to determine bounded port zone among Porto de Itapoa, Portonave Terminais Portuarios and APM Terminals Itajai, which is the best alternative to “ABC” company - importer of car filters, located in Joinville, SC. The specific objectives are: (a) measuring port costs in the three cited ports, considering parameterizations in green, yellow and red channels; (b) verify which terminal is faster in view of Comex (documentation) releases and (c) measure the distance and cost of road transportation to the customer's plant in the three scenarios. In methodological terms, the research was characterized as qualitative-quantitative (mixed), exploratory as to the objectives and a single case study. It is concluded that the most coherent decision-making is to choose the Itapoá Port, considering its competitiveness in terms of costs, as well as in the release agility.
