Resumo: This study aims to build indicators helping the creation and development of a “Brazilian Entrepreneurship Observatory". This research is considered theoretical with a qualitative approach to document analysis, aiming the proposing of a observatory. Based on studies Vesper (1977) there was 10 indicators proposed for this study grouped into four broad areas. In group G1 education: 1. people with primary education; 2. undergraduate courses in federal and state universities with entrepreneurship discipline in the curriculum; 3. business post-graduate courses with entrepreneurship discipline in the curriculum; 4. entrepreneurship events; 5. publications in the entrepreneurship field; 6. thesis and dissertations published in the entrepreneurship field. In group G2 economic development: 7. installed business incubators; 8. social entrepreneurship; 9. training and credit to the entrepreneur by the federal government; 10. unemployment rate. In group G3 micro and small enterprises: 11. SEBRAE indicators and G4 entrepreneurship: 12. GEM data. With this it was outlined the necessary reference for the “Brazilian Entrepreneurship Observatory" as presented in this paper.

Esta pesquisa é considerada um ensaio teórico, com abordagem qualitativa e análise documental. Com base nos estudos de Vesper (1977), foram levantados 10 (dez) indicadores, agrupados em quatro grandes áreas. No grupo G1 – Educação, levantaram-se seis indicadores: 1) pessoas com ensino fundamental; 2) cursos de graduação em universidades federais e estaduais com a disciplina de Empreendedorismo em sua matriz curricular; 3) cursos de pós-graduação stricto sensu em Administração com a disciplina de Empreendedorismo em sua matriz curricular; 4) eventos em empreendedorismo; 5) artigos publicados com tema “empreendedorismo”; e, 6) teses/dissertações divulgadas com o tema “empreendedorismo”. No grupo G2 – Desenvolvimento Econômico, foram relacionados os indicadores: 7) incubadoras instaladas; 8) empreendedorismo social; 9) capacitação e crédito para empreendedores pelo governo federal; e 10) taxa de desocupação. No grupo G3 – Micro e Pequenas Empresas, foram selecionados indicadores constantes no relatório do SEBRAE (2011).
