The paths of where in Brazilian Portuguese: linguistic tools and linguistic change

Resumo: The present work – focusing the use of where in Brazilian Portuguese - is a topic in a research whose goal is to study, from data gathered in written documents that (supposedly) employ an educated standard of Brazilian Portuguese, tendencies to changes in use at a number of levels (lexical, morpho-syntactic, semantic, discursive), trying to specify discursive factors of such changes. The analysis of the corpus shows a gradual distancing in relation to what linguistic tools recommend, pointing to a use in which one finds semantic dispersion and sliding, thus showing that in addition to references of where and of time, there are cases of reference of process, of means or starting point and of explanation that has as its scope a significant sequence.

El análise del corpus muestra un distanciamiento gradual relativamente a los que preconizan los instrumentos linguísticos, apuntando un uso en que hay dispersión y deslizamiento semántico, se monstrando que, para además de la referencia de " donde " a "tiempo", ocurren casos de referencias a " proceso", a " miedo" o" punto de partida" y a "que tiene como escopo una sequencia significativa".Ce travail – qui focalise l’emploi de où dans le portugais brésilien – est le topique d’une recherche qui a l’objectif d’étudier, dans des données prises dans des documents écrits qui (peut-être) se servent du portugais de registre standard, les tendances à la dérive dans plusieurs niveaux (lexicologique, morphosyntaxique, sémantique, discursif), cherchant à spécifier des facteurs discursifs de cette dérive. L’analyse de ce corpus démontre un éloignement graduel par rapport à ce qui est préconisé par les instruments linguistiques, déterminant un emploi dans lequel il y a dispersion et glissage sémantique, démontrant que, au-delà de la référence de où à temps, il y a des cas de référence à procès, au moyen ou point de départ et l’explication qui a comme intention une séquence significative.Este trabalho – focalizando o uso de onde no português brasileiro – é tópico de uma pesquisa que tem como objetivo estudar, em dados coletados em documentos escritos que (supostamente) utilizam o português padrão, as tendências à "deriva" em vários níveis (lexicológico, morfossintático, semântico, discursivo), buscando especificar fatores discursivos dessa deriva.
