Summary: This article focuses on the language of evaluation present in book reviews. The corpus comprises twenty reviews of fiction books, published in non-specialized Brazilian magazines. In order to identify the kind of attitude expressed by the reviewer, the analysis carried out is based on the categories proposed by Martin (2000).

A fin de identificar el tipo de actitud expresada por el reseñador, el análisis del fenómeno de la evaluación esta basada en las categorías propuestas por Martín (2000).Cet article focalise surtout l’évaluation existante dans le genre critique des livres. Le corpus de la recherche est constitué par vingt compte rendus des livres de fiction, publiés dans des revues hebdomadaires et de circulation nationale. Pour identifier le type d’attitude exprimée par celui qui écrit le compte rendu, l’analyse du phénomène de l’évaluation est fondée dans les catégories proposées par Martin (2000).Este artigo tem como foco principal a avaliação presente no gênero crítica de livros. O corpus de investigação constitui-se de vinte resenhas sobre livros de ficção, publicadas em revistas semanais e de circulação nacional.
