Resumo: This work aims at analyzing articles about literature teaching in secondary education, published between 1957 and 1963, in Escola Secundária, quarterly magazine published by the Campanha de aperfeiçoamento e difusão do Ensino Secundário (CADES). On the one hand, it tries to understand what the authors of these texts defended about the objectives of literature teaching; on the other hand, it explores the opinions of writers on the teaching methods for literature in the Brazilian secondary education. Thereunto, André Chervel's (1990) reflections are used on the transformations of the disciplines-knowledge in historical perspective, being provided by teachers and / or by textbooks and educational journals.

Por un lado, procura comprender lo que defendían los autores de esos textos sobre los objetivos de la enseñanza de la literatura; de otra parte, exploramos las opiniones de los articulistas acerca de los métodos de enseñanza para la literatura en el secundario brasileño. Para ello, utilizamos reflexiones de André Chervel (1990) sobre las transformaciones de las disciplinas-saber en perspectiva histórica, siendo planteadas por profesores y / o por manuales escolares y periódicos educativos.Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar artigos sobre o ensino de literatura no ensino secundário, publicados entre 1957 e 1963, na Escola Secundária, revista trimensal publicada pela Campanha de aperfeiçoamento e difusão do Ensino Secundário (CADES). Por um lado, procura compreender o que defendiam os autores desses textos sobre os objetivos do ensino da literatura; de outra parte, explora as opiniões dos articulistas acerca dos métodos de ensino para a literatura no secundário brasileiro.
