Resumo: | Critical thinking has an eminently applied nature: one thinks to attain a goal, whether it is to find an explanation, to make a decision or to solve a problem. This reveals its relevance in face of daily challenges, a topic that has not yet been properly explored. In the present paper, we examine the most fundamental critical thinking skills for individuals' daily functioning for them to achieve the best personal and social well-being possible. Then, our analysis will focus on the intervention that must be performed to develop such skills. This analysis of the promotion of critical thinking will be done in the specific context of Higher Education, both with students and professors, also presenting recommendations on possible practices. If "action is the daughter of thought", it is of paramount importance that each person develops their critical thinking competencies, as an individual and as a member of a community, particularly in the pandemic scenario that we all are living. |

Tal revela su relevancia en la respuesta a los desafíos del cotidiano, un tema por explorar debidamente. En el presente artículo, examinamos las capacidades de pensamiento crítico que son más fundamentales para el funcionamiento cotidiano de los individuos, para alcanzaren el mejor bienestar personal y social posible. Enseguida, nuestro análisis irá enfocarse en la intervención que debe ser realizada para desarrollar tales capacidades, en el contexto concreto de la Enseñanza Superior, tanto con estudiantes como con profesores, presentándose recomendaciones sobre prácticas posibles. Si "la acción es hija del pensamiento", es de suprema importancia que cada uno desarrolle sus competencias de pensamiento crítico, en cuanto individuo y en cuanto miembro de una comunidad, particularmente en el escenario de pandemia que todos vivimos en este momento.O pensamento crítico possui uma natureza eminentemente aplicada: pensa-se para atingir um fim, seja encontrar uma explicação, tomar uma decisão ou resolver um problema. Tal revela a sua relevância na resposta aos desafios do quotidiano, um tema por explorar devidamente. Neste artigo, examinamos as capacidades de pensamento crítico que são mais fundamentais para o funcionamento quotidiano dos indivíduos, para alcançarem o melhor bem-estar pessoal e social possível. Seguidamente, a nossa análise focar-se-á na intervenção a realizar para desenvolver tais capacidades. Esta análise da promoção do pensamento crítico será feita no contexto do Ensino Superior, com estudantes e com professores, apresentando-se recomendações sobre práticas possíveis.
