Resumo: This article has as aim expose some considering on the Law 10.639/03 that institutes the obligation of teaching African and African-Brazilian history and culture in the schools, and their literature. It is intended discuss some points about the Law and its practice, specifically on African Literature teaching, because most studies have only addressed to the History teaching and forgotten the African Literature in its cultural context.

It is intended discuss some points about the Law and its practice, specifically on African Literature teaching, because most studies have only addressed to the History teaching and forgotten the African Literature in its cultural context.Este artículo tiene como objetivo exponer algunas consideraciones sobre la Ley 10639/03, la cual instituye la obligatoriedad de enseñanza de historia y cultura africana y afro-brasileña en las escuelas, y la enseñanza de su literatura. Se pretende listar apuntamientos en la cuestión de la propia ley y su práctica, específicamente la enseñanza de literatura africana, ya que la mayoría de los estudios más recientes solo tienen se vuelto para la enseñanza de historia, olvidándose de la importancia de la literatura africana y su contexto cultural.Este artigo tem como objetivoexpor algumas considerações a respeito da lei 10639/03, a qual institui aobrigatoriedade do ensino de história e cultura africana e afro-brasileira nasescolas e o ensino de literatura.
