Resumo: Abstract: the study analyzes the role of radio and television in combating Covid-19 in plurilingual contexts. This is a field study, that took place in 2020 in the southern region of Mozambique. Bibliographical research was used during the collect de date and was applied to RM and TVM employees and speakers of Bantu languages ??as L1 a questionnaire. The data discussion consisted of analyzing the interactive process within the framework of Jakobson's (2010) communication and information theory and Hymes's (1972) communicative competence. The study concludes that the use of bantu languages ??on radio and television guarantees cohesion between various members belonging to the same speech community and ensures the intrinsic relationship: language, culture and identity, giving indigenous people the right to be informed in their L1, respecting the linguistic rights of the people.   Keywords: Radio. O estudo é de campo e decorreu em 2020 na região sul de Moçambique. Durante a geração de dados, foi usada a pesquisa bibliográfica e foi aplicado o inquérito a funcionários da RM e da TVM e aos falantes das línguas bantu como L1. A discussão dos dados consistiu na análise do processo interativo no quadro da teoria de comunicação e informação de Jakobson (2010) e da competência comunicativa de Hymes (1972). O estudo conclui que o uso das línguas bantu na rádio e na televisão garante a coesão entre vários membros pertencentes à mesma comunidade de fala e assegura a intrínseca relação: língua, cultura e identidade, dando, aos autóctones, o direito de serem informados na sua L1, respeitando-se os direitos linguísticos do povo.
