Resumo: | This research explores the concepts of the Smart City, and investigates the identification of the population in relation to the delivery of services related to the concept. In a broad, integrated and sustainable way, intelligence emerges and propagate in cities through the use of information and communication technology (ICT), distributed in several applications by different sectors (mobility, safety, health, education, environment, urbanism, governance, economy). In Brazil, cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Joinville, among others, already adopted such a definition, however, there is evidence that the society's recognition about the theme needs to be observed, a fact that motivates this research, which elects as area to study the City of São José dos Campos - SP. The aim of this work is to present a study about the identification of the inhabitants in relation to the aspects of the Smart City of São José dos Campos – SP. This is a survey of a quantitative approach, with procedures by direct interrogation, using data collection techniques in the field, through a structured questionnaire, with closed questions, with sampling of the population adequate for a level of 95% confidence interval, with up to 5% sample error. It is concluded that there is a consensus about the deficiencies attributed to the Domain of Governance, and a distinction between the identification of the inhabitants in relation to aspects that provide a Smart City. |

This is a survey of a quantitative approach, with procedures by direct interrogation, using data collection techniques in the field, through a structured questionnaire, with closed questions, with sampling of the population adequate for a level of 95% confidence interval, with up to 5% sample error.
