The hotel structure of Balneário Camboriú for tourist with special needs

Resumo: This article is a summary of a quantitative and qualitative study of the final report of a survey financed by the Government of the State of Santa Catarina and the University of Vale do Itajaí, through the selection of projects relating to the publication of Article 170 of March 2004. The above-mentioned survey focused on the conditions of the Hotel Park of Balneário Camboriú to receive and accommodate tourists with special needs. Data was collected from approximately ten percent of the accommodation businesses in the town, a total of eleven hotels, evaluated according to the guidelines of the Brazilian Tourism Institute (formerly Embratur), in terms of the physical and staff structure and focusing, in particular, on the conditions of access, circulation around the hotel, and full use of the social and accommodation areas. Based on the data obtained, an analytical discussion is presented here, on the accessibility of the hotel park in the town and the risks presented, together with some suggestions for reducing these risks, making tourism safer both for the tourists, and for business people in this area. El referido estudio trata de las condiciones de la hotelería de Balneário Camboriú para recibir y hospedar turistas portadores de necesidades especiales. Para tanto, colectamos datos de aproximadamente diez por ciento de las empresas de hospedaje del municipio, en un toral de once hoteles, evaluados con base en las determinaciones del Instituto Brasileño de Turismo (antigua EMBRATUR), en su estructura física y funcional, observándose, principalmente, las condiciones de acceso, circulación y utilización plena de las áreas sociales y habitacionales. Con los datos expuestos, se presenta aquí una discusión analítica sobre la accesibilidad de la hotelería del municipio y los riesgos ofrecidos por la realidad encontrada, así como sugerencias para reducirlos, tornando la actividad turística más segura tanto para los turistas, como para los empresarios de esa área. O referido estudo trata das condições da hotelaria de Balneário Camboriú para receber e hospedar turistas portadores de necessidades especiais. Para tanto, coletamos dados de aproximadamente dez por cento das empresas de hospedagem do município, num total de onze hotéis, avaliados com base nas determinações do Instituto Brasileiro de Turismo (antiga Embratur), em sua estrutura física e funcional, observando-se, principalmente, as condições de acesso, circulação e utilização plena das áreas sociais e habitacionais. Com os dados apresentados, apresenta-se aqui uma discussão analítica sobre a acessibilidade da hotelaria do município e os riscos oferecidos pela realidade encontrada, assim como sugestões para reduzí-los, tornando a atividade turística mais segura tanto para os turistas, como para os empresários dessa área.
