Continued formation is a teacher's professional starting point and goal. He must be in constant renewal and reflection on his pratices as a teacher, being able to self-evaluate and promote changes in his methods, whenever necessary. In face of the fast changes occuring in the scope of education, as well in society and the world, the teacher can never remain only in the debates concerning his area of expertise, being required to focus on pedagogical practices and development psychology. For that to occur, the teacher must attend different courses, events, meetings and collective study groups, by so defining his professional growth. The responsability of inciting the teacher in his continued formation must also be accounted to the school, forseeing such events during the collective elaboration of the Political-pedagogic Project of the institution. Therefore the teacher that constantly develops his continued formation promotes, expands, perfects, debates, tests and enriches his knowledge promotes great contributions in the structure of the schools environment and helps in the organization of the schools pedagogic activities for he builds his personal and professional identity and consolidates his autonomy. This will help in the formation of citizen students, knowledgeable of their social and political context, being critical towards their reality and social transformation agents. Being such, the objective of this essay is, on the basis of our knowledge on continued formation and related subjects, visualize this process on active geography teachers of public schools in Ourinhos - SP, creating a panorama on the continued formation. We present a diagnostics through field work used to interview the referred teachers.
