The development of this project aims to assist in moving a person which is too weak or limited in theis movements and can not turn herself in bed, change theis position. The decubitus movement is important to avoid wounds and ulcers (sores) that appear when the person lies in the same position for a long time. The wounds are formed in the bone regions of the body where there is bigger pressure against the bed, such as the buttocks and hips. Procedures involving the handling and transportation of patients are considered the most painful and dangerous for medical professionals and caregivers in homes. A mechanism for changing the decubitus position of bedridden patients is presented in this paper.
