Resumo: | There are reports that the planting of sugarcane by pre-sprouted seedlings (MPB) promotes gains in the initial growth of the crop in relation to the planting of awnings, a fact that can interfere in productivity and technological quality. However, of the few existing studies comparing the productivity of sugarcane cultivars as a function of the planting system, none assesses the effects of the planting system on the second crop cut (sugarcane). In this context, this study aimed to analyze the effects of planting systems and sugarcane cultivars on the productive and technological attributes of sugarcane in its second cycle. The experiment was conducted in southeastern Brazil, more specifically in the municipality of Jaboticabal, SP. The experimental design used was randomized blocks in the factorial scheme 2 x 3, referring to two planting systems (toletes and MPB) and three sugarcane cultivars (RB85-51556, CTC 9001 and CTC 9005). The productive variables analyzed in this study were productivity, diameter of stems, height of stems and tillering at the time of harvest. The technological variables were Brix, fiber, Pol from broth, Pol from cane, purity and total recoverable sugar (RTA). During the experimental period corresponding to the second cut of the experiment (soca cane) there was a 360 mm water deficit, characterizing a very dry agricultural year. It was observed that the planting system and its interaction with the cultivars did not interfere in the productivity and technological quality of sugarcane in the second cut. The cultivars RB85- 5156 and CTC 9001 stood out for the productive attributes, presenting productivity close to 100 t ha-1. For the qualitative attributes, i.e., broth quality, the cultivars RB 85-5156 and CTC 9005 were superior to CTC 9001. Therefore, the planting system does not interfere in the productivity and technological quality of sugarcane in its second cycle, being this effect restricted only for the crop factor |

Therefore, the planting system does not interfere in the productivity and technological quality of sugarcane in its second cycle, being this effect restricted only for the crop factorExistem relatos de que o plantio da cana-de-açúcar por mudas pré-brotadas (MPB) promove ganhos no crescimento inicial da cultura em relação ao plantio de toletes, fato que pode interferir na produtividade e na qualidade tecnológica.
