Centralidades do lazer em Presidente Prudente: fluxos, tensões e territorialidades no Parque do Povo

The present work is the result of a research done between the months of December 2013 and June 2014 as a research project, whose goal was to bring approximate the productions made by the Social Sciences on the youth studies together with the geographical science. To do so, we searched to insert some geographical concepts within our proposed study of young goers of the Parque do Povo in the city of Presidente Prudente-SP. The study consists in understanding the dynamics undertaken by the youth from the outskirts of Presidente Prudente who attend the northern limit of this important public space, especially on weekends nights, seeking in the process to analyze and ascertain - both theoretically and empirically - what we understand as flows, tensions and territorialities that the young people in question have and experience in our area of interest. It is also an objective of the work to understand the role of Prudenshopping, located near the Parque do Povo, in this context of the night entertainment we analyzed, considering the strong correlation of this equipment with the sociability dynamics that the young people build on the Parque do Povo, making it a part inherent in this moment of enjoyment lived by them
