Resumo: The present study examined antecedents and possible impacts of disciplines from the Hu-manities area in the graduation process in Public Relations. As a methodology, were carried out a bibliographical research, curricular analyzes and data collection with course coordina-tors from universities and colleges in the states of São Paulo and Paraná. The study identi-fied issues involving the importance of a solid humanistic foundation during Public Rela-tions graduation, focusing on the period after the 2013 National Curricular Guidelines. In this way, it sought to provide knowledge about the capacity of professionals in this area, through the revision of aspects in scientific literature on competencies and the analysis of curricular structures. The conclusions of the study suggest that the differential of Public Re-lations graduation is not limited to practical and specific learning in Social Communication, but that deepens in an interdisciplinary way

O estudo indicou questões envolvendo a importância de uma base humanística sólida durante a graduação em Relações Públicas, focando o período após as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais de 2013.
